Cover Girl recently launched a new nail polish collection that promises high gloss shine for 7 days. The ad claims there is no need for a base coat and top coat because of the super shiny formula. Call me intrigued. I picked up 3 shades. I’ll just get right to my thoughts.
The colors are amazing. Unique. Not colors that I normally would pick up. The one in this picture is called Grapevine and it’s a vibrant purple that is surprisingly gorg. I received compliments on it everywhere I went. The formula is really pigmented so you get opacity with one coat. But I’m not a one-coater. The second coat was even better.
I have to say that the formula is really shiny but I just can’t love any polish without a nice glossy topcoat. I can’t. It’s like doing a smoky eye and forgoing mascara. Also, 7 days is a stretch. I’ve yet to meet a polish that stays chip-free longer that 2 days, this one included. But I’ve become really spoiled with my gel manicures so I used this with my gel base coat and top coat and it worked like a charm!
Sorry about the bootleg picture. I had taken more, you know the standard Hold The Bottle To Show Off The Color pics, but they somehow got deleted. This was the only one I had and I’ve since removed the color to apply one of the new OPI Bond Collection colors.
For $5.99 and a money back guarantee, I highly recommend this polish. The colors are just so pretty! I picked mine up at Walgreens but you can also buy them here from Cover Girl.
